About Jacleen

As a published writer of nearly 100 in-print magazine articles; a blog writer for CollegeXpress, a leading name in college education; and a lifetime member of two academic international honors societies for English and psychology (Psi Chi and Sigma Tau Delta), Jacleen has worked as a tutor & academic coach for over four years, serving highly reputable industry names like Education, Inc. based in Plymouth and Next Level Up based in Needham.

Jacleen now works for herself due to an ever-increasing client following. She tutors solely test prep and English related topics. She earned her B.A. in English Literature from Assumption College in Worcester, whose English Program is considered the "10 percent most focused" by College Factual. In 2017, Jacleen also expects to earn her M.A. in counseling psychology with a 4.0 GPA from Assumption College, which is named a "Best Regional University" of 2017 by U.S. News & World Report, a "Best Regional College" and one of the "Best 381 Colleges" of 2017 by The Princeton Review, as well as one of the "Top Third" non-vocational colleges by The Economist. She has also taken additional classes in Theology and unique styles of writing.

To explore how factors like mental health and life dynamics can affect academic performance, Jacleen has practiced as a clinical mental health intern in Auburn, MA while finishing up her master's degree. Her counseling style involves Cogntiive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), since Assumption College's clinical counseling psychology program offers one of the very few CBT programs in the country. As a graduate fellow, Jacleen also assists a doctor of psychology in her research. Her counseling psychology focus has allowed her to assist students in college counseling.

As an educator, Jacleen strives to help each student reach his or her highest potential and believes in taking a different approach to academics: one that incorporates both the interests and personal strengths of each student, as well as a supportive student-tutor relationship that encourages growth.

Jacleen has an extensive history working with students of all backgrounds, including those with mild to severe physical and mental disabilities and illnesses. She has a way of finding what makes each student special, and uses such student strengths to foster his or her academic growth.

Sincerely,

Jacleen C.
